General Conditions

Please make sure that all mares arrive at stud without hind shoes
All mares will be wormed at regular intervals and the owner charged accordingly
Veterinary assistance and advice will be obtained at the discretion of the staff on duty at the time. Costs incurred will be chargeable to the owner. Veterinary Fees: All expenses incurred for visits, examinations and medicines will be payable directly to the Veterinary Surgeon at the end of each month
The farrier will be called at regular intervals whilst the mare is at stud and any costs incurred will be chargeable to the owner
Mares will only be covered in receipt of a certificate to confirm the negative results of aclitoral swab test for Contagious Equine Metritis (mare need not be in season)

Mares will be accepted only with an up-to-date Flu, Tetanus and C.E.M. Certificate. Rules for the Equine Herpes injection as recommended by the Stud's Veterinary Surgeon
a) Equine Herpes injections will only be required for mares coming to Stud on foal down. Mares will need to have two injections with a one-month interval in between and two weeks to have expired from the second injection, before being allowed to come to Stud
b) Mares with a happy, healthy foal at foot which is two weeks old or over and barren or maiden mares, will not need to have the pneumabort injection
The account for stud fees, keep fees and any other will be presented monthly and the balance outstanding must be paid when the mare is collected
Every care will be taken whilst the horse is in our charge but no responsibility will be taken for accident, theft or disease
Owners accept that except for death or personal injury or damage to property caused by negligence liability for all claims, damages, costs, loss and expense of any kind whatsoever are hereby expressly excluded
Scanning: It is stud policy to scan all mares. If a mare leaves before being scanned it will be assumed that she is in foal and the fee is payable along with the keep fees before she leaves the stud
All fees must be paid before the mares leave the stud
The full stud fee must be paid before chilled semen will be shipped
Should the mare found to be not in foal before 1st October, a free return is available for the following season
Mare owners who send a third party to collect their mare should make arrangements to pay in advance of collection
